01Before you open anything
How to tell whether the email is legitimate.
An unexpected email, with a link and a death behind it, has the exact shape of a scam. Checking it is the right instinct.
- The sender ends in @mylasts.com. Anything else is not us.
- It arrived at the exact address that person entered, not a shared inbox or a forward.
- The link points to mylasts.com. Hover over it and read the whole thing before you tap it.
- We will never ask you for a password, a card number or a photo of your ID. Not in the email, not inside.
- Access lasts 30 days from when the handover starts. Nobody will rush you with an hours-long deadline.
If something doesn't add up, don't touch the link. Write to us from your own email at the address below and we'll check it with you.
02What My Lasts is
A place where someone kept documents and instructions for you.
The person who named you opened an account, uploaded files and wrote a letter. While they kept answering the messages we send at intervals, nobody could open any of it. Not us either.
The email you received means a full sequence of those messages went unanswered, or the date that person chose has arrived. It is not our decision, and not anyone else's.

The window starts when the handover starts. Download what you need before it closes.
Every open is logged
With a date and a time. It protects what that person left, it doesn't watch you.
04What this isn't
Three things worth clearing up right away.
It isn't an inheritance. My Lasts doesn't move property or money. What's here is documents and instructions.
It won't charge you anything. That person paid the subscription. You don't have to create an account or pay to open what they left you.
It doesn't replace a will. If there's an estate in play, it runs its own course. This is the practical layer: where things are and who to call.
